“The Agricultural Twelve”. Telus points out: he is a point of contention among the opposition

The ‘Agriculture Twelve’ is a point of contention among the opposition, says Robert Telus, head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The “Agricultural Twelve” was drawn up by the two largest agricultural unions in Poland: OPZZ Farmers and Agricultural Organizations and NSZZ “Solidarność” of Individual Farmers.

The demands include: opposition to limiting the production of meat and animal products and limiting the breeding of farm animals.

“The Agricultural Twelve”. “At the point of contention”

– The “Agriculture Twelve” is a point of contention among the opposition due to program differences – said Robert Telus, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, in an interview with TVP Info. – On the one hand we see this whole environment of the so-called ecologists, led by Sylwia Spurek, and on the other hand we have farmers. And now PSL faces a dilemma: does it support opponents of Polish and European agriculture? Because what is happening in Poland has its origins in the EU. (…) These are left-wing ideologies – said the Law and Justice politician. And he noted that the Polish People’s Party “grew thanks to the votes of farmers.” – And what will he do now? – He asked.

Minister Robert Telus also drew attention to the fact that the leader of AgroUnia, Michał Kołodziejczak, had been elected to the Sejm through the electoral list of the Civic Coalition. – We will see if agricultural matters are important to them or if some personal interests are more important – he said. – However, we know that pseudo-ecologists attack very strongly, he emphasized.

Kołodziejczak as Minister of Agriculture?

Michał Kołodziejczak assured that there have been no discussions within the Civic Coalition about his possible election as Minister of Agriculture. – If necessary, I will provide the best specialists in this ministry – said the leader of AgroUnia.

– I see a lot of incompetence in the Ministry of Agriculture itself. For four years I wondered what I would do. I want those who produce food to have subjectivity in Poland, so that those who buy food are also aware that it is produced in Poland and produced in a normal way. But the most important thing is that there are professionals in this ministry, he said.
