“They realized.” Tusk’s loud election promise is postponed

According to one of the portals, the production of “Granny’s” will most likely be postponed. The benefit will not be introduced until 2025.

In March, at a meeting with the residents of Częstochowa, Donald Tusk presented a proposal to introduce “grandmothers”. This is a benefit of PLN 1,500 that would be received by a woman who wants to return to work after having a child. The money can be used for any purpose.

– 50 percent mothers do not return to work after their maternity leave, even though 90 percent express such a wish. With this program we want to honor the efforts of Polish women. We have been working on the project for quite a long time, Tusk said, presenting the proposal.

From the moment it became clear that Law and Justice, despite winning the elections, would not be able to form a government and a coalition of opposition parties would take power in the country, questions arose about the timing of the implementation of the government’s promises. Donald Tusk and other opposition politicians.

As reported by money.pl, “grandmother” will most likely not be introduced in January 2024. The provision of the benefit must be postponed for one year. All due to lack of time.

“After the elections, the coalition partners realized that by extending the government formation procedure they would not have enough time to implement important reforms on January 1, 2024.” – we read on the website.

A similar situation will arise with another promise of the Citizens Coalition, namely increasing the tax-free amount to PLN 60,000. zloty. This change will also not appear in the Polish legal system until 2025.

Both the ‘grandmother’ reforms and the increase in the tax-free amount will be part of a major package of tax system reforms prepared by KO and other coalition partners.

Money.pl also points out that the introduction of tax changes will be hasty anyway. because “a change in the tax system must be adopted six months in advance.” The new government therefore has until June next year.
