A pro-natalist initiative launched by Sparco, the historic Turin company that produces technical clothing for motorsport and created the suit of Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen. As reported on the company’s website, this “Parent Policy” aims to strengthen corporate well-being over the next five years, “improving the well-being of employees and creating virtuous mechanisms compatible with the local realities in which the company operates.” Sparco is a company with three distinct divisions: racing and motorsport, carbon, footwear and crash-prevention clothing. It exceeded 140 million in 2022, and aims to reach 150 million in the year that is about to end. It currently has 1,700 employees, 800 of whom are in Italy, and operates in Tunisia, the USA and Spain.
“This idea came to my mind because we are a very young company, with the average age of our employees being under 40 and 60% of them being women. Ours is a tailoring profession and the carbon unit is also very manual because laminating the carbon parts requires small hands. Sparco’s brand manager and board member Niccolò Bellazzini explains: We have just presented our sustainability report and are planning to introduce our ESG rating – We also have a large number of women in our management, many of them first-line managers in strategic positions such as commercial, legal, motorsport, human resources. We launched a similar operation in July “I was inspired by large companies such as Prysmian, which provides a 5,000 Euro guarantee to employees who have children.”
