Catawiki platform, which deals with the auction and resale of special objects, has published a job posting for a full-time “Lego expert” in its team. The search for a new expert coincides with an almost 40% increase in Lego sales on the platform compared to the same period in 2022, demonstrating the growing popularity of everything related to the Lego universe. The iconic toy maker, which celebrated its 90th anniversary last year, has gone through a number of remarkable transformations over the decades. Since its inception as a wooden toy manufacturer, Lego bricks have evolved into potential investment opportunities and highly sought-after collectibles.

Now one lucky Lego expert will have the chance to further enrich this community and enable others to pursue their passions on Catawiki. Duties include evaluating sets submitted by sellers, using expert and network knowledge to create attractive listings, providing reviews and value estimates, all while connecting your career with passion. There is no specific degree among the requirements, but there are some “skills”:

  • In-depth information about Lego
  • An eye looking at trade;
  • Documented business experience;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Good computer skills;
  • A network of potential vendors and experts in your industry;
  • Diplomatic competence necessary to act as a mediator in disputes between users;
  • Good/fluent knowledge of English.

As reported in the announcement, work can be done remotely in many European countries such as Italy, France, Germany or the Netherlands.

Pokémon expert

At the beginning of the year, the platform released another “bizarre” announcement targeting a Pokémon expert.
