“It will be liquidated.” There are clear announcements from the opposition camp

The new government plans to cut back on the Prime Minister’s chancellery. Cuts to the budget of the Chancellery of the President are also possible.

The opposition, preparing to take power, is announcing not only that United Right politicians will be held accountable, but also that state government spending will be significantly reduced.

The provisions of the 2024 Budget Act show that, among other things, the operating costs of the Prime Minister’s and President’s offices, the National Bank of Poland and the Institute of National Remembrance amount to PLN 5.48 billion. Of this amount, PLN 1.63 billion would be allocated to government services. After the change of government, costs must be radically reduced.

Cuts

As Marek Sawicki of the Polish People’s Party announces, the new government will make significant cuts to government services and the functioning of many institutions.

– All this will be liquidated and put in order by the new government, and expenditure on the Prime Minister’s office will be adjusted to real values ​​next year – the politician said in an interview with money.pl. Sawicki added that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has created “his own center for governing the country” in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery. The new government leader must abolish this informal structure.

“At the end of 2021, the Prime Minister’s Office employed 1,331 people, including 116 directors and their deputies, and 45 organizational units were established. Compared to 2015, this is twice as many staff,” the portal reports, adding that only the KRPM management had 28 members.

The portal adds that the cuts could also affect the president’s chancellery. Journalists cite the ‘ultimatum’ of Senate Deputy President Michał Kamiński, who threatened President Andrzej Duda with restrictions on expenditure for his office.

– If the president chooses the path of obstructing reforms, fighting the government, if he uses taxpayers’ money to fight their will, the president’s money will have to be significantly limited, said the Third Way politician .

This year, taxpayers spent PLN 250 million on the maintenance of the KPRP. The planned amount for next year is PLN 330 million.
