Obajtek wrote a letter to the president. Calls for “in-depth analysis”

PKN Orlen President Daniel Obajtek addressed the issue in a letter to President Andrzej Duda. This concerns the announcement of a new parliamentary majority.

Recently, the issue of energy price freezes has returned. The coalition consisting of KO, Trzecia Droga and Left wants Orlen to cover the energy price freeze. The cost of such a solution was estimated at PLN 15 billion.

The stock market reacted strongly to these reports and on Wednesday afternoon Orlen shares fell sharply – by as much as 7.3%. and their price fell below PLN 60. Just a few hours after the start of the stock market session, the company’s value fell by PLN 5.5 billion. PKN Orlen president Daniel Obajtek has no doubt that the opposition is responsible for the situation.

Obajtek writes to the president

“Due to the actions of the MPs of the KO and Poland 2050, aimed at the financial stability of ORLEN, I sent a letter to President Andrzej Duda requesting a thorough analysis of the proposed – in the opinion of the ORLEN -management – unfavorable solutions. be harmful both to the further development of the company and to the Polish economy and Polish energy security,” Daniel Obajtek reported on the X website (formerly Twitter).

“ORLEN has repeatedly proven that it is actively involved in activities that serve Polish citizens, while at the same time implementing important development investments, including as part of the energy transformation. If the law proposed by KO and Polska 2050 comes into force, the company’s activities on such a scale as now will not be possible,” he wrote.

“Given the President’s great concern for Poland’s development and security, we would like to ask you to carefully analyze the proposed provisions of the bill. For my part and on behalf of the entire board of directors of ORLEN SA, I would like to assure the President that we are ready to present analyzes and calculations that describe in detail possible threats,” we can read in Daniel Obajtek’s letter to President Andrzej Duda.
