PiS informs the public prosecutor’s office and the Central Office for Anti-Corruption. ‘The MPs could not prepare this project’

PiS submits a report to the Public Prosecution Service and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. This is a draft law on energy prices, which also applies to wind farms. There has been considerable controversy in this regard.

Since yesterday, the case has been widely commented on both social media and the media. The planned regulations surrounding wind turbines quickly attracted the attention of journalists.

Representatives of the Civic Coalition, PSL and Poland 2050 deny reports that the draft law regulating energy prices includes the possibility of expropriation of wind farms. Meanwhile, politicians from PiS and the Confederation claim that the project poses a major threat.

Location of windmills. PiS: risky regulations

On Friday, representatives of the Law and Justice parliamentary club appeared at a press conference, where they announced that they would inform the Public Prosecution Service and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in the matter.

The first to speak was the Minister of Education, Krzysztof Szczuki. – After the provisions regarding aid to electricity consumers (…) the last part of the law contains very important, very serious and very risky provisions regarding the location of wind farms – said the MP.

– These are regulations that allow wind turbines to be built close to residential buildings. These are rules that essentially violate the basic principles of property rights, because changes to these rules will under certain circumstances allow the expropriation of people to build investments in wind farms in rural areas, Szczucki said.

The politician drew attention to the structure of the document. – This project is officially a parliamentary project, but even a cursory analysis shows that the parliamentarians could not prepare this project. These are very detailed, serious and nuanced rules, he emphasized.

Szczucki: Which lobbyist is the author?

– We ask all parliamentarians who is the author of this bill, who prepared it, which lobbyist, which company that wants to make a lot of money, prepared this bill? – he continued.

– That is why we are submitting a request for these services to the regional prosecutor’s office and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau to find out who is behind this act. After all, the parliamentarians who signed this bill – I would like to draw your attention to the interview with MP Michał Szczerba – admit in bursts of honesty that they do not know the content of this bill, which means that they certainly did not write it. , Szczucki said.

– CBA – a very important agency that aims to investigate such cases and determine who is behind suspicious regulations – he argued.

Kowalski: Companies will benefit from this

Later at the press conference, Janusz Kowalski from Sovereign Poland spoke, focusing, among other things: on the agricultural aspect of the matter. The former deputy minister of agriculture said the law would allow wind turbines and solar photovoltaics to be installed on agricultural land needed for food production. He added that in practice, only foreign companies will benefit from the scheme.

Controversy surrounding the law

The whole confusion broke out on Tuesday after a group of MPs from the Civic Coalition and Poland 2050, represented by KO MP Krzysztof Gadowski, submitted to the Speaker of the Sejm a parliamentary bill amending laws supporting consumers of electricity, gas and warmth. certain other actions.

The project quickly caused major controversy, including: because it involves facilitating the construction of wind turbine installations, the operation of which is burdensome for local residents and also has negative consequences for nature. The Basta Foundation was one of the first to write about the case.

The Foundation writes, among other things, that “the project is based on changes to the Real Estate Management Act, which will allow the expropriation of private individuals with a view to the construction of wind farms and other investments in renewable energy, because after the entry into force of The project’s construction investments in renewable energy will be a public purpose.”
