There will be no increase in the tax exemption. Lubnauer: President Duda’s fault

The future government coalition will not fulfill its promise to increase the tax-free allowance within the announced date. Katarzyna Lubnauer pointed out the perpetrator.

Increasing the tax-free amount is one of the ‘PO specifications’ to be implemented within the first 100 days of the government. “We will cut taxes. People who earn up to PLN 6,000 gross (also from business activities) and receive a pension up to PLN 5,000 gross will not pay income tax. We will increase the tax-free amount – from PLN 30,000 to PLN 60,000 , in the case of taxpayers who pay according to the tax scale, including entrepreneurs and pensioners” – this is the fourth “specific” of the platform.

However, as reported by the left-wing portal Oko.Press, this fundamental promise of the Civic Platform may never come into effect. The website reported that the free amount was PLN 60,000. that will certainly not be in 2024, but it is also possible that the promise will never be fulfilled.

As we read in Jakub Szymczak’s text: “November 30 is the last day for tax changes that can come into effect next year. KO promised a tax-free amount of PLN 60,000, but the long wait for Tusk’s government is not the only problem. The coalition I don’t want this reform.

Lubnauer points out the perpetrator

– Increase of the tax-free amount to PLN 60,000. PLN in 2024 is unrealistic, due to the fact that President Andrzej Duda has entrusted Mateusz Morawiecki with the mission to form a government for two weeks, there is no more time to work on tax changes – argued Katarzyna Lubanuer of KO in RMF FM.

– The increase in tax-free allowance is our promise and we will strive to implement it – assured the parliamentarian. At the same time, Katarzyna Lubnauer declares that a new campaign promise will be fulfilled. – 30 percent increases for teachers from January 1, this is our pre-election promise and it will be kept, she said.

Kierwiński: The coalition partners have doubts

In their official statements, PO politicians also do not hide that they are skeptical about their own promises.

– Free compensation of PLN 60,000. zloty? For the time being, Prime Minister Tusk’s government is not yet functioning. We are conducting a thorough audit and the Minister of Finance is presenting a roadmap. Our coalition partners have doubts, we will convince them. This will certainly not be the first promise to be fulfilled, Marcin Kierwiński said recently.

The politician added that PO’s promise was not received with enthusiasm by the Platform’s coalition partners and that Tusk’s party will “convince them” to accept this idea.
