The Bank of Mexico introduced a 20-peso coin in honor of the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and the United States.
It is bimetallic, has a dodecagonal shape, and has a hidden image and microtext as security elements.
It was minted by the Mexican Mint.
One side features the National Shield surrounded by the words “UNITED MEXICAN STATES.”
On the reverse side in the upper outline is the inscription “TWO HUNDRED YEARS OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS UNITED MEXICAN STATES – UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
In the center are two eagles representing the two countries, with the inscriptions “ROYAL EAGLE” and “Bald Eagle”.
Above the microtext “FRIENDSHIP, SOVEREIGNTY AND COOPERATION” and a hidden image “200”.
The denomination “20 dollars” and the years “1822” and “2022” are described.
On the right is the symbol of the Mexican Mint “M°”.
Banksico: This currency is legal tender, so the public can use it to make any type of payment and it will be available through the banking system.
