On Friday, PO chairman Donald Tusk met with ministerial candidates in the KO, Third Way and New Left governments. – The future Minister of Finance assured the future Council of Ministers that the new year will start with the payment of more than 800 PLN, Tusk said at a press conference after the meeting.
– Despite this propaganda, despite this constant harassment by those who leave – he added. As he said, this is “what the government has committed itself to, what Polish families are waiting for, because they heard it from the outgoing government and from me.”
– 800 plus is achieved, it becomes a fact. The new year will begin with these decisions, among others. We have guaranteed this in our draft budget, the politician argued.
In this context, he pointed out that “there is no budget”. – Prime Minister Morawiecki has not presented the budget to this Parliament. We must correct this major omission by Morawiecki within ten days, Tusk said.
800 plus will replace 500 plus
The 500 plus program is intended for families with at least one child. The benefit is paid to each child until they turn 18, regardless of family income. The right to the benefit is established for one year, from June 1 to May 31.
ZUS will accept applications for the subsidy from February 1, 2023 laws for benefits for the new benefit period, which started on June 1, 2023 and runs until May 31, 2024. An application for 500plus can only be submitted electronically.
From 2024, the 500 plus benefit must be indexed by PLN 300 and paid in the form of the 800 plus benefit.

Last week there was a meeting between Donald Tusk and the chairman of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, after which the PO leader announced that the election of a new prime minister could be expected on December 11 or 12, and the swearing-in of the government on December 13 .
Earlier, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki agreed with the chairman of the Sejm that he will give a presentation on December 11 at 10 a.m., after which a vote of confidence in the PiS government will take place.
After the October 15 elections, Law and Justice has 194 seats in the Sejm, while the Civic Coalition, Third Way and New Left have a total of 248 seats. 231 seats are needed for a majority.
