Donald Tusk gave his presentation on Tuesday. After almost an hour of speaking, in which the new Prime Minister did not avoid a scandal, the first concrete announcements appeared regarding the implementation of social promises that Tusk had made during the election campaign.
As the new Prime Minister said, “all of Poland knows these details” and will hold the governing coalition accountable. Tusk assured that he was “not afraid” of this and that he was not afraid of “none of these promises”.
What does Tusk represent?
The Prime Minister announced that pay increases for teachers will be implemented first, from January 1, 2024. Their salaries will increase by 30%. In turn, the entire budget area will receive a 20% increase.
Tusk also announced that the payment of the benefit of more than 800 will take place in accordance with the procedure announced by the previous government.
Another promise concerns retirees and the indexation of the benefits they receive. The “grandmother” policy announced by Tusk will also be implemented.
– As we promised, we will immediately introduce the second indexation of pensions in a year if inflation rises above 5%. You laughed at grandma. This year it is Grandma’s Day, as part of the Active Mom program, the head of government said.
Solutions for entrepreneurs
Later in his program speech, Tusk announced the first of the package of changes prepared for entrepreneurs.
– The October 15 coalition already has projects ready and an action plan to immediately implement the postulates, such as cash PIT, that is, entrepreneurs pay income tax only after receiving money from a paid invoice, and not from the invoice itself – emphasized he.
Another solution is leave for entrepreneurs. During this period they would not pay social security contributions.
