The Association of Residents of Vistula Communes “Przywiśle 87” is the organizer of a series of trainings held as part of the project “We train NGOs – we increase citizen activity at the grassroots”.
The initiative is supported by the National Institute of Freedom – Center for the Development of Civil Society from the funds of the government program NOWEFIO Civic Initiatives Fund for 2021-2030. During the training we will learn how to set up an association, obtain funds for its activities and how to use citizen control tools.
We are the ones who have a voice
The project “We train NGOs – we increase citizen activity at the grassroots” is implemented with the aim of increasing the participation of citizens and non-governmental organizations in the processes of shaping public policy and decision-making, as well as the institutional development of the non-governmental organizations. -Public sector It turns out that this element of the activity of Polish women and men is relatively weak in terms of the background of other European countries.
“The diagnosis of the state of civil society in Poland and the situation in the sector of non-governmental organizations, as well as the estimated assessment of the NOWEFIO program, confirm the need for programmatic and financial separation of activities for the development of citizens’ initiatives in Poland. in the form of a program supporting the activation of civil society in all areas of public interest activities falling within the sphere of public tasks.” – informs the National Institute of Freedom – Center for the Development of Civil Society.
The implementation of activities that activate society results in an increase in social influence in various areas of work. Starting with changes related to local government and the state, ending with changes in the immediate environment. It is also a concern for the common good and the practice of participating in public life and consciously improving the quality of social life. A contribution to this evolution is social education, aimed at people who want to start their adventure in non-governmental organizations or are already members of non-governmental organizations. A springboard to a new level of awareness can be participation in the training from the series “We train NGOs – we increase citizen activity at the grassroots”.
Social activists influence reality and have tools to control the actions of local and national authorities. What grassroots citizen mobilization is, what a watchdog is, how to organize a grassroots referendum, what resources and rights social guardians can use, is knowledge in a nutshell that is worth using.
Gain knowledge for free, you will still be fine
The Association of Residents of Vistula Communes “Przywiśle 87” on December 14 and 19, as part of the project “We train NGOs – we increase civic activity at the grassroots”, will provide information on the following topics:
-
the role of NGOs in local governance,
-
establishing non-governmental organizations,
-
local referendums
-
watchdogs in local government units.
So far, training courses have been given: “How to set up a foundation or association?”, “How to get money?”, “NGOs write a law – about the role of non-governmental organizations in local government” and ” Local referenda. Tilting against windmills?”.
– It is clear that there are many young people who want to take action and change something in their environment. However, they often do not know how to approach this, where to start and what regulations they need to know. Our training is for such people, but also for those who are already members of non-governmental organizations. They have set up a foundation or association, but they lack instruments, knowledge or money. We provide information about the registration of NGOs, propose specific laws, show options for obtaining funds, talk about the role of organizations in local governance, learn how to write applications for access to public information, and also discuss with participants about promoting their activities – says the project coordinator on behalf of SMGN ”Przywiśle 87″.
We have more social education meetings ahead, which will cover the organization of local referenda and the methods of obtaining information from the municipality, district and voivodeship.
