According to the latest drilling and production report prepared by the Colombian Chamber of Oil, Gas and Energy Goods and Services (Campetrol) for the month of November, the total activity displayed an annual reduction of 25.2%, registering 116 active teams.
These data represent a decrease of 39 teams for Campetrol compared to November 2022, the month in which 155 active teams on the national territory were reported. In the same month, rigs recorded 36 active rigs, which represented an increase of 2.9% (one more rig) compared to October 2023, and a decrease of 40.0% (24 fewer rigs) compared to November 2023. 2022.
The number of active overhaul exercises was 80, the same as in October 2023, and showed a decrease of 15.8% compared to November 2022 (15 less equipment).
Campetrol indicates in its report that there has been a decline in drilling activity since November 2022 has led to a loss of almost 20,475 jobs, both directly and indirectly. In terms of oil rigs, the labor reduction is equivalent to approximately 15,600 jobs: 2,400 direct and 13,200 indirect; while for the reconditioning exercises this concerns approximately 4,875 jobs: 750 direct and 4,125 indirect.
Regarding drilling activities, Campetrol highlights Ecopetrol’s current activities the semi-submersible platform of Noble Discoverer. This project was launched on November 18 in the Orca Norte-1 demarcation well, located 39 kilometers from Punta Gallinas, La Guajirain the deep waters of the Colombian Caribbean.
