Finance Minister Andrzej Domański said that the World Bank has confirmed the end of cooperation with Jacek Kurski and Kacper Jakub Kamiński.
The former head of Polish television, Jacek Kurski, represented Poland at the World Bank for almost a year. He was appointed to this position by the President of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński.

The NBP published a statement declaring that the representation of Polish interests in international banking institutions, including the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, is the exclusive competence of the NBP President. The statement referred to the Act of August 29, 1997 on the National Bank of Poland – Art. 11 section 3, which states: “The President of the NBP shall represent the interests of the Republic of Poland in international banking institutions and, unless the Council of Ministers decides otherwise, in international financial institutions.”
“This means that the Council of Ministers only has the power to appoint a representative of the Republic of Poland in international institutions with the status of financial institutions,” we could read. The announcement also indicated that “with the adoption of the Law on the NBP, the 1986 Council of Ministers resolution, which regulated the appointment of nominees to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, established its raison d’être in terms of its subject .”
