I can’t imagine how anyone in the country who works in a public institution can earn more than the president, says Secretary Adam Bodnar.
KO MP Dariusz Joński revealed as part of the parliamentary inspection what remuneration the leading TVP employees received in 2023. The amounts are astronomical and only apply to 2023.
Bodnar: Such income should not appear in the public media
– Huge quantities. Mr. Michał Adamczyk raised over PLN 1.5 million. – said Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar when asked on Radio ZET about the merits of the state media.
– It was about PLN 187,000 per month – said host Beata Lubecka. – The Internet is on fire – she added.
Bodnar admitted he wasn’t surprised by people. – I cannot at all imagine how anyone in the country who works in a public institution can earn more than the president – he said.
– I also understand the heads of public finance in different, specific situations, because there is usually a fight over specialized managers and whether they will go to a state finance company or a private company. But there the market determines the profits, he added, emphasizing that the profits in the present case were grossly inadequate.
– Or perhaps they were entitled to this money? – asked the journalist perversely.
– The question is what the money was intended for. Is it for practicing party propaganda on public television? Is it to legitimize the political goals achieved in recent years? Unfortunately, we saw this in the public media, Bodnar replied. – I believe that such income should not be earned in the public media – said the head of the Ministry of Justice when asked whether he was outraged as a citizen.
How much did the heads of TVP earn?
The document released by Joński shows that Michał Adamczyk earned PLN 372,593.71 gross as head of the Television Information Agency (since April), and as part of his business activities – PLN 1,127,664 including VAT.
Samuel Pereira, deputy director of TAI, has received PLN 439,755.17 gross since April.
Marcin Tulicki, as deputy head of TAI (since May), earned PLN 417,354.33 and PLN 296,340 gross under civil law contracts.
The total salary of Rafał Kwiatkowski, also Deputy Director of the Agency, amounted to PLN 366,948.03 gross, and Jarosław Olechowski, as Director of TAI, amounted to PLN 1,016,450.34 gross and PLN 407,625 gross in respect of civil law contracts.
“They earned as much as they lied about. Cosmically speaking. A brief history of TVP,” said Prime Minister Donald Tusk. He also stated that some people earned forty times more than teachers or nurses.
