These are the new prices of traffic fines for 2024

The economic forecasts being drawn up in Colombia for 2024 appear, among a number of changes, to be accompanied by financial challenges that, if not addressed in the most efficient way, could ultimately significantly hit the pockets of citizens.

One of the most notable changes recently has been the adjustment of prices of essential goods and services such as petrol, tolls and fines.

Regarding the latter, the authorities have announced that for this new year they have determined that new prices will be introduced according to their category and/or severity.

In this sense, category A sanctions, that is to say the least serious, from today imply the payment of $173,733, while category F, the most severe and related to driving under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances, can reach figures ranging between $3,900,000 and $62,400,000.

Moreover, according to the Traffic Police, depending on the severity of the violation, the driver could even lose his driver’s license and/or end up in jail.
