Tusk has appointed a new head of ARiMR. He previously headed a psychiatric hospital

Wojciech Legawiec was appointed chairman of the Agency for the Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARiMR) by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The appointment deed was handed over to the new head of the Agency on Thursday by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski. Previously, Halina Szymańska was chairperson of ARiMR, in 2017-2020 head of the Chancellery of President Andrzej Duda.

Who is Wojciech Legawiec?

Wojciech Legawiec was born on January 16, 1975 in Kielce. For many years he was associated with Busko, where he led the Busko-Zdrój Spa as chairman of the board of directors between 2010 and 2019.

In recent years he headed the Mazovia Specialist Health Center. Professor Jan Mazurkiewicz in Pruszków, better known as the Psychiatric Hospital in Tworki.

However, Legawiec also has experience with the structures of ARiMR, where he worked from 2003-2007. Previously, from 2001, he was an advisor to Czesław Siekierski, today Minister of Agriculture and MP of PSL-Trzecia Droga.

ARMiR has a new boss

The Agency for the Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARiMR) was established in 1994 to support agricultural and rural development. ARiMR has been appointed by the government to act as a recognized paying agency. It implements instruments co-financed from the European Union budget and provides assistance from national funds.

As the implementer of agricultural policy, the Agency works closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. ARiMR also falls under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance in the area of ​​public resource management.

The Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture is headed by a President appointed by the Prime Minister at the request of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Minister of Finance. The structure of ARiMR consists of three levels: headquarters, 16 regional branches (one branch per voivodeship) and 314 district offices.
