Prices in Poland are rising, albeit at an increasingly slower pace – according to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS).
Consumer inflation was 6.2 percent. on an annual basis in December 2023 – the Central Bureau of Statistics reported on Monday. Compared to the previous month, prices of goods and services increased by 0.1%.
On an annual basis, the price increase for services was 8.2% and for goods 5.5%.

“In December this year, the biggest impact on the price index of consumer goods and services in general, compared to the previous month, was higher prices for food (by 0.2%), restaurants and hotels (by 0.5%) , transport (by 0.2 percent) and recreation and culture (by 0.3 percent), causing the index to rise by 0.06 percentage points, 0.03 percentage points and 0.02 percentage points respectively. Lower prices for clothing and footwear (by 1.2%) caused this indicator to drop by 0.05 percent points – we read in the announcement.
