The date to be marked on the calendar is February 1, 2024. Starting from that day, those who purchase a water filtration system in 2023 will be able to claim tax credits for their expenses. But there is no good news for this year: The government decided not to extend the measure. And the resources used are scarce even for 2023: amounting to 1.5 million euros compared to five resources used in previous years.
The “deduction” is up to 50% of the costs incurred for the purchase and installation of filtration, mineralization and cooling systems for water from aqueducts and used for human consumption. The measure is designed to encourage people to limit their consumption of bottled water and thus prevent massive plastic waste.
Maximum amount of expenses reimbursed? For real estate symbols it can go up to a thousand euros, if we are talking about commercial or institutional buildings it can instead go up to 5 thousand euros.
Contribution fee can be requested from the Revenue Administration between 1-28 February, through the web service under the “Privileges” heading in the reserved area on the Institution’s website.
