Left MP Adrian Zandberg said in an interview: about the budget law, including the budget of the Institute for National Remembrance, and about the issue of housing.
Razem MP from the Left Club, Adrian Zandberg, argued on Polsat News that the budget “inherited” from Mateusz Morawiecki’s government includes both good and bad expenditure.
The budget of the Institute for National Remembrance
Zandberg praised the significant increase in wages among key workers, such as teachers and civil servants working for the Polish state. What doesn’t he like? First of all, too little spending on health care. As for the excessively high expenditure, Zandberg points to the Institute for National Remembrance. – In my opinion, the expenditure for the Institute of National Remembrance is still too high. In my opinion, they could have been cut much more decisively, because it’s just a broken institution, he said.
Let us not forget that the parliamentary majority adjusted the budget of the Institute of National Remembrance. – The IPN budget grows by PLN 46 million compared to 2023, […] The Institute of National Remembrance requested an increase in expenditure compared to the previous year by more than PLN 114 million, said Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance.
Zandberg: When it comes to charging money to the Institute for National Remembrance, I think we should stop that
– On many issues, relating to what was started by the previous government, I believe that this should be dealt with calmly. When it comes to infrastructure projects, about nuclear energy, about high-speed lines, about issues that determine the quality of our lives, the future of the Polish economy in five to ten years. But when it comes to charging money to the Institute for National Remembrance, I think we should put an end to that, Zandberg argued.
The Razem party did not join the government coalition, but did express support for the cabinet of Donald Tusk. Zandberg emphasized that the group supports ‘what is good’, but if he does not like something, ‘on the contrary’, he does not intend to remain silent. – We say very clearly that we don’t like it – he stated.
– You have probably seen it in recent days, when ill-advised ideas appeared to move the Polish nuclear power plant, which would mean delaying its launch for a few more years. We have said very clearly and decisively that this should not happen, he emphasized.
The issue of housing
Zandberg also said that the idea of being part of the ‘Mieszkanie na start’ coalition will not solve the situation on the real estate market.
– People who buy dozens or a few dozen apartments drive real estate prices crazy and such behavior cannot be rewarded (…). If someone has saved five or ten million zlotys, let him invest in start-ups or new technologies, i.e. strategic interests from Poland’s perspective. Then we could think about preferential treatment, the politician said.
Last September, the left presented its own housing program, one of the main points on which it based its election campaign.
