You must start working immediately and not promote yourself, Janusz Kowalski demanded from the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Michał Kołodziejczak.
Former deputy minister of agriculture Janusz Kowalski spared no bitter words in the Sejm against the current head of the ministry, Michał Kołodziejczak.
Kowalski: Let’s get started! Don’t advertise yourself
– Farmers are waiting for one important decision from this government today – suspension of imports of agricultural products from Ukraine. Let’s get to work, Mr. Kołodziejczak! And don’t brag in the media or promote yourself on the parliamentary stage. Let’s get started! – Janusz Kowalski asked the deputy minister. From the parliamentary podium.
The parliamentarian argued that most farmers voted for Law and Justice and judged that it was the PiS-SP government that defended the Polish countryside. – Mr Kołodziejczak confirmed one important thing. It was Valdis Dombrovskis, Donald Tusk’s colleague responsible for customs and trade issues in the European Union, who blocked good solutions for Polish agriculture – said Kowalski.
– You cannot take care of Polish farmers. You should start working immediately and not promote yourself, he told Kołodziejczak.
Kołodziejczak: Kowalczyk opened the gate for grain from Ukraine
Earlier, Kołodziejczak gave a speech that lasted several minutes. – You have completely lied to Polish farmers for eight years and today Mr Sachajka’s conclusions only show your helplessness – Kołodziejczak said in his speech.
– Your negotiations on EU subsidies, which you have talked about so often, are such that a Polish farmer receives a basic subsidy of 108 euros per hectare, a German farmer 170. Where were you then, Mr Sachajko? And Mr Kaczyński – Kołodziejczak turned to the president of PiS – is responsible for the fact that the government, your party, has caused problems for Polish farmers who have to take to the streets today – he argued.
Kołodziejczyk referred to the report he brought to the podium on Ukrainian grain in Poland. The politician turned to former Agriculture Minister Henryk Kowalczyk.
– When you told Polish farmers not to sell grain, you opened a big gate for grain from Ukraine. It was after your words that Poland was flooded with corn from Ukraine. You said to the Poles: don’t sell, and you said to the Ukrainian agro-oligarchs and latifundists: bring them, I made room for your corn and wheat. Your policies have led to this, Kołodziejczak said.
Sachajko: Poland flooded with grain from Ukraine
At the very beginning of the meeting, the topic of peasant protests was raised in the form of a formal motion by Kukiz’s 15th MP Jarosław Sachajko. Time is running out, Poland is flooded with Ukrainian food and there is no law. he said, calling for consideration of other projects in this area, including those of Kukiz’15 and PiS.
Sachajko emphasized that one of the projects concerns securing Poland from the flow of food from Ukraine. That is why he wanted to expand the agenda with information from the Chairman of the Sejm when the bills would be processed.
Hołownia assured that he would check the status of the indicated projects. A little later, Stefan Krajewski appeared on stage and Sachajka replied that the ministry, together with the European Commission and the Ukrainian side, was preparing appropriate solutions.
The proposal to suspend and supplement the agenda was rejected by the Sejm majority.
