PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński admitted that introducing a big SISTER for small entrepreneurs was a mistake. – I’m sorry, we made a mistake, we will fix it – he announced.
On Sunday, President of Law and Justice Jarosław Kaczyński met with the residents of Kielce. After the politician’s speech, questions came from the audience.
– I had a sole proprietorship. There are many such people. Most of them complain about the high Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). It also happened to me that I borrowed from ZUS. Most of them could have voted for PiS, but they were so angry that they left. We have to do something about it, because these votes are a shame. If the ZUS were lower, people would pay even if they had a lower income, and they would not suspend their activities – said Mr Władysław.
Kaczyński: And that was a mistake
– You have raised a very important issue. This was certainly the reason for the worse result than we could have achieved. Those who prepared this SISTER operated within the framework of what we called the Polish Order. And that was a mistake. I admit that we also made mistakes, said Jarosław Kaczyński.
– This one-person and multi-person business activity is of great importance. (…) I can only say: I’m sorry, we made a mistake, we will fix it – he added.
‘He financed dirty deals’
Kaczyński also criticized changes in Polish education and the abolition of homework in primary schools. – However, we should pat ourselves on the back, because NCBiR was supposed to develop science, but it financed dirty companies – he said.
The National Center for Research and Development decided to provide huge subsidies, but due to irregularities in the expenditure of budgetary resources on projects, it had to suspend its activities. At the end of November, the Supreme Court of Audit announced further measures to investigate irregularities at NCBiR. By decision of the officials, after carrying out inspection activities, the public prosecutor’s office had to be informed of the possibility of committing a crime. NCBiR was overseen by Republican Party politicians, led by MEP Adam Bielan. In December, the new Minister of Science, Dariusz Wieczorek, announced that his ministry would take over supervision of the National Center for Research and Development.
