The union leader expressed himself in dialogue with THE HERALD that this is the result of the good work done by families who are committed to this cocoa productionwhich is supplemented with the instructions of the cocoa guildwhich has borne good fruit with this recognition.
“This started about 35 years ago then Fed cocoa and his research department began the search for the best c-treescacao from ColombiaThis resulted in the Federation presenting to the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) These materials, at the time there were nine of them, endorsed it, and from there it became producers they started planting this kind trees which are productive and of exceptional quality,” he stated Edward Baquero.
In this sense, he added that cocoa plantation in the country has increased during these ten years.
“I confirm that this award confirms the other five awards we have won in recent years with cocoas from Arauca, from Nariño, Córdoba and Santanderand this year with the cocoa from Goalbut essentially everything is part of the same materials that the federation has supplied to all producers in Colombia,” said the president of Fedecacao.
He added that this is the case in the country’s 32 departments cocoa productionbeing Santander the area with the highest concentration of national production at 40%. Of the 32 departments, 29 departments have a significant economic impact.
