A special committee in the Sejm will deal with the flood law. “People Waiting”

The committee will prepare a report on the draft flood protection law on Tuesday, its chairman Mirosław Suchoń, MP from Poland 2050, said.

A draft amendment to the law on special solutions relating to the elimination of the consequences of floods, which introduces a number of solutions to help mitigate their consequences and additional forms of assistance for people affected by floods, was submitted to the extraordinary committee on Thursday committee referred.

– Our parliamentary legislators are in constant contact with the legislators of both the Government and the Senate so that they can professionally consider this project without undue delay, ensuring a high quality of legislation so that it can be passed to the second reading presented and can be adopted on Tuesday, because people are waiting for this solution – Suchoń said on Polish radio on Friday.

He confirmed that the intention is for the amendment to be adopted by the Sejm on Tuesday, then by the Senate (the next day of the Senate session is scheduled for October 3) and signed by the President next week.

Flood Act. What is included in the project?

The project assumes that flood victims who have a home loan and have lost – even temporarily – the ability to use their house or apartment can benefit from non-repayable assistance from the Borrower Support Fund for a period of twelve months. The intention is to introduce the right of pre-emption of residential buildings for the municipality affected by the flood.

The project also assumes preferences when awarding renovation bonuses. Introduces additional leave to offset the impact of flooding. Injured persons receiving the so-called flood benefit, they receive an additional benefit of PLN 1,000. PLN to cover the costs of energy consumption or the purchase of fuel for generators associated with the need to dry an apartment or house.

An automatic change regarding one-off support to entrepreneurs has also been introduced in the project.
