A bonus in the thirteenth year for the lowest earners. The hypothesis about the proposed new tax reform law expected today in the Council of Ministers began to circulate yesterday afternoon in the Council of Ministers and reports, pending the structural introduction of a replacement tax regime, an increase in the thirteenth salary of workers in 2024 employees for a value not exceeding 80 euros. The provision would concern taxpayers with a total income of no more than 15,000 euros. However, the deputy minister of Economy, Maurizio Leo, held back on the minutes released yesterday: “The device is still subject to analysis by the competent bodies”, the government is working to “define a decree that is compatible with the needs of taxpayers and at the same time, respecting the balance of public finances”.
Corriere notes that the possibility of a bonus of up to 80 euros added to the thirteenth salary of workers with incomes of up to 15 thousand euros “is still being studied, but there is a desire for an ad hoc intervention, even if it would only be for 2024”. As compensation, there would be a return of 10% – from the current 5% – of the replacement rate for productivity bonuses of up to 3 thousand euros gross. Among the other innovations contained in the legislative decree that is being considered by the Council of Ministers are the review of agricultural income and income from self-employment.
