Problems of PKO BP and Santander
In July this year, similar problems were reported by customers of PKO BP and Santander. Customers of the latter bank noticed problems with card payments. However, users of PKO BP systems pointed out problems with transfers and access to electronic and mobile banking.
However, the bank has not confirmed this information. “The bankruptcy does not affect PKO Bank Polski and does not affect the bank’s current activities. The situation is stable and safety experts are continuously monitoring the situation,” PKO assured BP at the time. Santander Bank in turn indicated that although the hotline was not operational, there were no significant problems with card payments and mobile banking.
The issues were related to a global Microsoft outage. Companies around the world reported problems with the operation of the IT giant’s services and programs. Many airports around the world have been paralyzed. Problems were also reported in Britain’s railways and banking systems, including in Poland.
