The Ministry of Infrastructure is analyzing the audit report at LOT Polish Airlines and does not rule out submitting a request for a new audit.
Maciej Lasek, deputy minister in this ministry and plenipotentiary for building the CPK, spoke about it. Currently, LOT Polish Airlines has announced a competition for the President and Vice President for Finance, which, according to the Deputy Minister, will last about 2 months.
– We do not rule out that we will request a new audit, more focused on development and strategy – Lasek said at a meeting of the parliamentary subcommittee. He recalled that the Ministry of Justice is analyzing a report on the situation at PLL LOT, commissioned by the previous management of the Ministry of State Assets.
The board will respond to the audit
– These audits were carried out by the Polish Aviation Group, which is in a sense a shareholder of PLL LOT. This audit was completed in September this year. It contained a number of information that the board of directors of LOT Polish Airlines should refer to. PLL LOT management received the results of this audit on November 26, 2024, with a deadline to respond by December 4. The next day, which was basically the same day, a change in subordination also took place [nadzór nad PGL został przekazany z MAP do MI]. We are currently analyzing this report at the ministry [Infrastruktury] – said the deputy minister.
He announced that the changes to PLL LOT were completed yesterday. Currently there is a competition for the president and vice president of finance in the company. – LOT Polish Airlines has a stable management situation. A contest for the president and a contest for a member of the board of directors for financial affairs were announced, he recalled.
– This competition will last a long time, probably about two months, but until then the company is assured of working comfort so that all investment elements and processes carried out are carried out without any obstacles – he said.
In 2023, LOT Polish Airlines had 10 million passengers.
