In an interview on the Dla Pieniędzy channel on YT, Mateusz Morawiecki explained that during his rule he did not agree to regulations that are harmful to Poland. – Not only is my signature on the Green Deal nowhere to be found, but in 2019 at the European Council I assured the exclusion of Poland as a country that cannot commit to climate neutrality, which was on the agenda at the time. In 2020, the climate targets were also only adopted for the EU, not for Poland. This is stated in the transcripts, the former prime minister argued.

– Between 2019 and 2023, i.e. at the end of our government, the European Commission put pressure on regulations and directives anyway. They were impossible to block because qualified majority voting was used. To block this you need a group of several larger countries. We were lonely, said the vice president of PIS. He stressed that his government protested against the most harmful solutions for Poland and filed a complaint with the Court of Justice of the EU. – Wherever I could, I fought very hard and was effective. While we were in power, the Green Deal package was not implemented, he noted.
