“Rutto.mp3” in the Banca Intesa app: is the mysterious file a joke?

Everyone who uses the Banca Intesa San Paolo application has a mysterious file on their phone. Its name is “rutto” and it is in mp3 genre. So it is an audio file. The affected smartphones are Apple’s: report comes from: Emerging ToolsA company specializing in the analysis and optimization of mobile applications. The test served to highlight the extreme size of the Intesa application and how the space taken up in memory could be reduced. However, when extracting the material, an audio file named “rutto.mp3” appeared.

The “rutto.mp3” file in the Banca Intesa application: what is it?

According to the test, 448 megabytes of the Banca Intesa app’s space (64% of the app’s total weight) are occupied by “dynamic frames”, that is, sets of files that ensure the correct operation of the app. However, their number can be reduced or processed more efficiently to save memory space. The total weight of the application is considered excessive: approximately 700 megabytes.

Second Emerging ToolsIt will be possible to reduce the weight by 140 megabytes with minor interventions such as eliminating duplicate files and optimizing images. Among many files, the application contains a file called “rutto.mp3”.

The file is smaller than the overall app size and appears to have no obvious function. This seems like some kind of joke by the developer. No one has yet attempted to steal the audio file and Banca Intesa has not issued any comments on the matter.
