Tax Administration (SAT) has announced that taxpayers now have until 31 December 2025 to turn on the tax mailbox.
The original deadline was January 1, 2025, but the deadline for completing this procedure has now been extended by one year.
The SAT stated that failure to comply with this tax liability after this period will reason for the violationas a fine of 11 thousand pesos will be applied.
According to tax rules, starting from 2020, the inclusion of the “Tax Box”, registration and updating of communication tools is a mandatory requirement for all individuals and legal entities registered in the Federal Register of Taxpayers (RFR).
It’s beyond this dimension:
• Individuals and legal entities located in the Russian Financial Center with a canceled or suspended tax situation.
• Individuals with no tax obligations and no economic activity.
• Salaried and salaried taxpayers who earned income in the immediately preceding fiscal year of less than P400 thousand.
The tax mailbox is a communication channel whose purpose is to simplify the notification of administrative acts and send messages of interest in a fast and secure way.
This is a private, personalized portal where notifications are sent electronically.
How to enable tax box?
-To enable the tax mailbox, you must log in to the SAT portal (sat.gob.mx).
-You must click the “Tax Mailbox” button, access using the RFC and password or current electronic signature.
-You must select the “Configuration” option and fill out the contact form in which you register your email address and mobile phone.
