Everyone avoided this reimbursement, now the tax office will download it. The government is preparing a revolution

The government is considering introducing an audiovisual compensation that would replace a radio and television subscription. The new solution is to considerably increase the financing level of public media.

Everyone who has registered a radio receiver and a TV must pay a subscription costs. It must be paid until the 25th day of each month. In the absence of compensation, the user is punishable by imposing a fine. Whether someone has a TV or radio that is not registered is checked by the Polish message. It is important that there is no obligation to leave the controller in your apartment.

The reimbursement will replace the subscription?

According to the media, the government must take into account the liquidation of the RTV subscription and introduce an audiovisual reimbursement in exchange. It would significantly simplify the issue of financing the financing of public media, while it would increase the amount of funds that TVP and Polish radio would receive. The reimbursement would be mandatory for all Poles that earn the income and are automatically charged by tax offices.

For now it is not known for what amount the audiovisual reimbursement would be. Certainly, the unemployed, poor people, students and young people up to 26 years old, people with disabilities (for example deaf), pensioners, people who earn less than the minimal salary (except for farmers and entrepreneurs) and seniors over 75 years of life .

Government plans

Last year, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage presented the concept of implementing the European legal order of media freedom in the Polish legal order. This document presents the assumptions of the future Media Act and was focused on pre -consultation, which lasted until September 23, 2024.

“It is proposed to withdraw the Subscription Costs Act, and therefore the liquidation of the obligation to pay these reimbursements by households and other entities to pay them” – It was written in the document.
