With three new openings in Manaure (Guajira), Puerto Asís (Putumayo) and Escobal (Cúcuta), the hard discount company reached the milestone of 2000 stores in the national territory.
The operation of this chain provides more than 17,000 direct jobs in 450 municipalities in 28 departments.
As of December 31, 2021, D1 generated more than 2,600 new jobs, of which 51% were women, primarily in operational positions in stores and distribution centers.
In terms of sales, they totaled more than $10.9 billion last year.
“From D1, we want to continue building a relationship of trust with consumers, offering them high quality products at affordable prices and with a range that meets the basic needs of consumers, just as we continue to expand to get closer to all Colombian households. Credibility, as well as trust, will become D1’s main assets,” explains Christian Bäbler Font, President of D1.
It highlights that during the 11 years they have been operating, they have managed to influence the food sovereignty of the country and the economic development of the regions, as 90% of the suppliers are national.
