iPhone sales are up 5.5% from the first quarter of last year and currently stand at $50.6 billion. Mac sales are up more than 14%.
The services business, which includes Apple Pay, Apple Music and Apple TV+, grew 17% to nearly $17 billion. Subscription services currently have 825 million customers, 40 million more than at the end of 2021.
Apple Watch and AirPods also sold well, driving 12% growth in the wearables category. Only iPads gave less: a decrease of 2%.
better than expected
Analysts had expected lower numbers from Apple. Fewer new computers will be needed as many businesses are on the cusp of partially or fully working from home. People would also spend more time with their iPhone. In the end, Apple turned out not to be bothered by it. Apple made a profit of $25 billion.
