Half a billion lost for Air France-KLM, ticket prices rise

In the past quarter, KLM and sister company Air France have already increased their fares due to higher fuel prices. This has happened on all long haul flights. How much extra passengers have to pay for their tickets depends, among other things, on the class they are in and their destination.

war in Ukraine

The airline has allowed more flights in the past three months, taking advantage of the lifting of travel restrictions in several countries.

Air France-KLM reported that the war in Ukraine also caused a temporary drop in the number of reservations. However, there is optimism for the rest of the year as summer holiday bookings are plentiful. The company expects devices to be 85% full in the current quarter and possibly 90% full in the next quarter.

State aid repayment

Thanks to these very full aircraft, Air France-KLM expects to break even in the second quarter, which runs from April to June. The company even expects to make a profit in the third quarter.
