Bavaria enters into an alliance to promote the craft beer industry

The beer industry in Colombia has growth potential compared to other markets in the region, such as Brazil and Mexico, which have higher per capita consumption. The super-premium segment, of which the artisan category is a part, has plenty of opportunities for expansion.

For this reason, Bavaria and the Colombian Collective of Craft Breweries (Colcas), a union that brings together more than 150 companies, are developing an initiative to develop the craft market and further expand the beer culture in the country.

To bring this project, which is in its early stages, to life, Bavaria provides its own digital marketing channels, including independent national craft breweries.

In addition, the company will relax its commercial agreements with points of sale to facilitate access to this category.

“In Bavaria, we are aware that behind every beer is a great opportunity to generate value for the country. With this initiative, we want to help hundreds of entrepreneurs benefit from the growth and development of the beer industry in Colombia. The craft beer industry has a significant growth opportunity and craft brewers need to reach a greater number of consumers from more segments. As part of our social responsibility, we hope to help craft brewers, independently and autonomously, to achieve a better performance of their business,” said Samira Fadul, Vice President Corporate Affairs of Bavaria.

“For microbreweries, it is important to support craft beer in Colombia, to maintain our independence. These initiatives with Bavaria will be positive to promote beer culture in the country. We appreciate the mediation of the Presidential Advisor, Clara Parra, and her team, led by Sandra Rodríguez, in opening this unprecedented space,” explains Daniel Lozano, President of Colcas.

The initiative enables craft breweries to independently develop higher productivity and gain more leeway in their business strategy.

This commitment further strengthens the beer category in Colombia, which in 2021 registered great dynamics in the offer from different producers and the highest per capita consumption of the past 25 years, leading to greater visibility for independent craft breweries as actors. the country’s economic recovery.
