Feyenoord asks UEFA for clarification after tickets go on sale

Feyenoord asked UEFA on Tuesday for an explanation about the sale of thousands of tickets for the Conference League final against AS Roma on May 25 in Tirana. Unbeknownst to the people of Rotterdam, the free sale of thousands of tickets started on Tuesday at noon.

According to Feyenoord, AS Roma fans knew this and apparently demanded too many tickets for the final. “If so, that is unacceptable,” said a Feyenoord spokesperson.

“We were very surprised by this and immediately contacted UEFA. The FA said they would look into it and get back to you.”

Just like AS Roma, Feyenoord received three thousand free tickets for the final battle in the 22,500 spectator Arena Kombëtare in the Albanian capital.

According to the news on the UEFA website, 8 thousand 500 tickets will be on sale from 12 noon, in addition to about a thousand tickets for clubs to buy and which, according to Feyenoord, are intended for sponsors, partners and families of players and coaches.

“To our surprise,” said a Feyenoord spokesperson. UEFA may sell other tickets, but everyone should have an equal chance to buy them.”

The Conference League final will be played next season at the Slavia Prague Stadium.
