Household consumption fueled economic growth

For his part, Alejandro Useche confirmed that one of the sectors facing growth challenges is agriculture, which contracted 2.5% in the first quarter.

Within the primary sector, the largest backlog is presented by the mining sector, which remains 15% below pre-pandemic activity.

In terms of secondary activities, the construction sector shows significant gaps compared to other sectors, which widened in March compared to the first two months of 2022.

“The average growth of GDP It’s good, but it needs to be analyzed that it currently shows very complex realities, such as the agricultural sector, which is affected by the higher cost of inputs,” he explained.
