The reason for the cancellation of flights is the lack of staff, including security, at Schiphol and the resulting forced capacity reduction for airlines. “It is really a noose for the passengers and ourselves,” spokeswoman Claudia Metz told RTL Z.
Brakes on ticket sales
Transavia had previously canceled 500 flights for the period April-October due to a staff shortage at the airline. Metz says this will have limited impact. “We then combined several flights.”
The airline has now placed a dump on ticket sales for flights departing from Amsterdam. “This sale happened almost last week,” Metz said. “We hardly sold tickets then.” According to Transavia, reservations from Brussels, Rotterdam and Eindhoven remain possible, but these flights are now filling up quickly.
