Primary school employees will receive a wage increase of 4.75% from July. This has been agreed between the trade unions and the PO council, which today reached agreement on a new collective labor agreement.
This is the same salary increase that high school students can expect. Yesterday it was announced that the unions have reached an agreement with the board of VO.
Just like in primary education, employees in secondary education receive a bonus of 500 euros all at once. Agreements have also been made about parental leave and the spending of 65 million euros on professional development of teachers.

Two months ago it was announced that the salaries of primary school teachers have risen sharply. They will receive an average of 10% in the coming years to close the salary gap between teachers in secondary and primary education. This was a temporary contract separate from the new collective labor agreement.
Negotiators now considered it important that primary teachers benefit as much as secondary teachers, so as not to create a new pay gap. The outcome of the negotiations has not yet been presented to the base of the unions.
