Tax authorities warn against false emails about tax regularization from taxpayers

A warning about fraudulent messages coming from the Tax Authorities (AT) to regularize the tax situation of taxpayers was published on the Finance Portal, the second warning in less than two weeks.

The Tax Office explains that it is aware that some taxpayers receive emails purportedly from the AT asking them to click on a ‘link’ provided for possible regularization of their tax situation .

Examples of the content of the messages refer to the filing of the declaration and the process of execution of tax debts, and the recommendation to regularize the situation, access to a “link” to obtain more detailed information.

“These messages are fake and should be ignored. Their purpose is to convince the recipient to open malicious pages by clicking on the suggested links. Under no circumstances should you perform this action,” the AT explains.

Less than two weeks ago, a notice appeared from the IRS, which also warned against sending fraudulent emails, allegedly from AT, asking them to click a ‘link’ to receive an alleged VAT tax return. to receive a refund.
