He added in his speech that from within the portfolio he wanted to strengthen a Green tourism.
“Tourism now has a green face, which will meet the strength of travel agencies and promote it as a sustainable business,” said the trade minister.
On this subject, he explained that this initiative will be based on the Protecting natural resourcesthe use of biodiversity and the ethnic richness of Colombia.
“That will be the fundamental goal of strengthening the territories and their communities. In the tourism sector, within the proposal that is being made, it is to move towards a green economy, protection of natural resources, and take advantage of our biodiversity“, Umaña said in Anato’s congress.
During his speech, Umaña indicated that tourism will give preference to destinations in the Development program with a territorial approach (PDET).
“The government supports initiatives that help the environment. We need to work on the integration and bridging the gap between communities of the region,” he noted.
