The Creg is the Bank of the Republic of Electric Energy: Echeverry

President Petro was emphatic in stating that the… Creg and the superintendents must be “independent” of private interest: “These entities must regulate the markets on the basis of universal duty, not to sign the processes of financial speculation as they have hitherto done.”

In addition, he stated that the Chief Inspector of Public Services should conduct an evaluation of electrical infrastructure investments in the Colombian Caribbean.

“General and public interests must prevail. We are going to find out what investments have been made in Afinia and in Air-e or whether we are charging them upfront because the state has made investments,” he explained.

In this sense, the president also raised a number of questions about the investment of the Government and what users are currently paying.
