Spring/Summer 2023 fashion shows

There Paris Fashion Week is almost over, today is the last day of fashion shows but to “close the ball” are several internationally renowned Maisons, from Chanel to Louis Vuitton. The brand appeared right after lunch Miu Miuthat on the catwalk announced some of the new trends that will depopulate the Spring/Summer 2023. Once again the line is inspired by the early 2000s and, after the low-waisted pleated microskirts of past seasons, the brand sanctioned the return of yet another iconic accessory from that historic period. What is this about? Slippers that literally dominated summer fashion at the turn of the century.

Miu Miu is inspired by the early 2000s

For several seasons, Miu Miu has been laying down the law in terms of trends, just think of how popular the low-waisted pleated skirts worn last winter by stars from Chiara Ferragni to Hailey Biber have become. Also for the Spring/Summer 2023 season, the Maison presented a series of pieces destined to become cult on the catwalk. Oversized cargo pants, midi jeans, translucent suits that expose underwear, XXL jackets and tops that reveal the belly button: the Miu Miu runway seems to catapult us into the past, to be more precise in the early 2000s, when the very low waist, large pockets and knee-length pencil skirts were very popular.

The cult accessory launched by Miu Miu

To capture the attention of the most nostalgic fashion addicts, however, it was one accessory in particular that appeared on the catwalk. In fact, Miu Miu has relaunched the flip-flops, the original summer shoes in full 2000s style for half sandals, half boots. They have been offered in different models, from ankle boots to cuissardes up to the knee, all in leather and with a thin heel and slightly wider at the toe (cat heel). Will iconic shoes become next summer’s must-have? The only certainty is that they literally dominated the Maison’s catwalk.
