Franco Gatti and Stefania Picasso’s wedding
The two met when Franco Gatti was already known for being one of the members of the group Ricchi e Poveri, while she was studying architecture, a college from which she successfully graduated. Their marriage has been far from the spotlight, although there have been TV appearances over the years, but the two have always preferred to keep away from the worldliness, living in their beloved Genoa.
Franco Gatti’s two sons: Federica and Alessio
From his marriage to Stefania, two children were born, Alessio born in 1990 and Federica. The latter graduated in law, starting a promising career, in recent years she got married and had two children, leaving her parents who became grandparents happy. Although her father was a well-known person and her mother was also a frequent guest on TV, the couple’s eldest daughter has always had a private life, there is actually not much information about her.
The tragic death of his son Alessio
The tragedy happened in February 2013, when Alessio was just 22 years old. Gatti immediately tried to protect his son’s memory, so that he would not be identified as toxic, because, as later confirmed by the medical reports, the cause of death was “death on first contract”, referring to the drugs found in the following tests toxicological agents, to which alcohol was also added, creating a lethal mixture. Guest of the episode of Vem de mim, the afternoon program of Rai1 conducted by Caterina Balivo, in October 2019, had recounted the suffering that befell him after the death of his son Alessio: “He drank, and it was his misfortune”. In an interview, released a few months later to DiPiù, the singer added:
It is against nature for a 22 year old son to die when a sick 70 year old father is still alive. I try to keep my pain inside, but I’m desperate, desperate. I know, the show must go on even with death in the heart, but tell me: how do I do it? I told the other two to go without me, out of respect for the public who loved and loved us, but they also refused.
After Alessio’s tragic death, however, his mother Stefania began to take care of the association Oltre l’Orizzonte, taking an interest in issues such as mediumship and the metapsychics through which contact with the afterlife is studied, as he had also told in Barbara D’Urso’s room in 2018.
