O prince harry AND Meghan Markle they’ve officially returned to social life, and they’ve done so in style, aware that they no longer have to adhere to strict royal dress codes. On the eve of the launch of their series on Netflix, they landed in New York, the city frequented by the Duchess during her “old life” as an actress. The two participated in Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple Of Hope Gala 2022, an event that every year awards those who are committed to the defense of human rights and that in this edition reserved an award for the Sussexes. The couple received the coveted award thanks to their work with the Archwell Foundationtheir non-profit association with which they fought against racism, sexism and discrimination of all kinds.
Who designed Meghan Markle’s white dress
To draw all the spotlight on herself, it could only be Meghan Markle, who appeared very elegant and glamorous in total white. Far from royal labels and protocols, she felt free to be daring, even if she did so without renouncing her innate class.
For the return to New York for the gala event, she relied on the sophistication of Louis Vuitton. The creative director of the French Maison, Nicolas Ghesquière, created a bespoke white dress for her, a model that recalls the minimalist and refined style of her wedding dress. She has a criss-cross skirt with a front slit, a long-sleeved bustier and a bateau neckline that left her shoulders bare (which would be absolutely forbidden if she were still a member of the Royal Family).
Meghan Markle: tribute to Diana “hidden” in the look
To top it all off, the Duchess chose a pair of black stiletto pumps, an all-black Givenchy clutch bag and precious, sparkling jewels, from dangling diamond earrings to a white gold maxi ring studded with a huge aquamarine stone. The latter has a very special value for Meghan: she inherited it from Princess Diana’s personal collection and, being particularly close to it, she also wore it at her wedding to Harry. The detail that cannot go unnoticed is that once again Markle bets on white, the color she has chosen for all the important events in her life, from the announcement of her engagement to Harry to her first public appearance with Archie. On this occasion it is a symbol of peace, a reference to the philanthropic work carried out with the Archwell Foundation.
