Darby and the Dead Cast Talk Growing Up in Hollywood (Exclusive)

In conversation with Liam Crowley of ComicBook.com, Darby and the deadRiele Downs’ titular star noted her focus on “living in the moment”.

“I think a lot about the future. I’ve been very stressed in the past,” explains Downs, who has been acting since she was four. “Learn to accept things as they are, move on, do your best: that’s all you can really do. “My vision of what is possible continues to grow,” says Jacobs. “As a child with no connections to the entertainment industry, being in a movie was something I dreamed about and aspired to.”

“The aspirations to be behind the camera, writing and producing films and doing projects,” continues Jacobs. “That’s definitely the next goal.”

Asher Angel, known for starring in DC’s Shazam! franchise, emphasize the speed of his career. In the four years between 2019 Shazam! and the upcoming 2023 sequel, Angel has been involved in six projects, going from 16 to 20 in the blink of an eye.

“It’s easy to work so hard and make progress at this fast pace, but I feel like it’s easy to take things for granted,” Angel said. “I jumped a lot. Looking back at all of this, all I can say is, ‘Wow, I’m so grateful for what I can do. Remembering that is very important and has certainly been a part of my childhood all along.
