O Christmas approaches and everyone starts preparing lunches, dinners and snacks with loved ones. The Royals are no exception to the rule and, as tradition dictates, they have already announced that they will not give up the customs loved by Queen Elizabeth II, from the banquet on the eve to the departure for the mass on the 25th of December. O Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, however, will not be in London, they preferred to stay in the United States with their children even for these post-pandemic vacations. However, they did not give up on the classic greeting card, even though they revolutionized the rules of this tradition: here is the photograph with which they wished their fans a Merry Christmas.
The “recycled” photo for Christmas greetings
While Prince William and Kate Middleton went all-in on an adorable family portrait to wish their subjects a happy birthday, Harry and Meghan turned convention upside down. Their Christmas card isn’t a sweet, never-before-seen photo with the kids, it’s simply a photo of the couple “recycled” from their last public appearance at the Ripple of Hope Awards Gala, where in early December they received an award from Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Foundation for their humanitarian efforts.
In recent years, however, things have been different, as the two have always appeared alongside little Archie and Lilibet (in 2021, for example, the Christmas postcard had been the “pretext” to introduce the girl to fans at home ).

The couple’s photo was turned down in a romantic black and white version: Harry looks very elegant in a dark suit, while Meghan looks radiant in white with bare shoulders. The latter at the event left nothing to chance, she wore Diana’s ring and a dress made especially for her by the creative director of Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière. Next to the photo is a very formal caption that reads: “We wish you a joyous festive season. From our family to yours, and on behalf of our teams at The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio and Archwell Productions, we wish you health, peace and a Happy New Year!“. The reason why Sussex preferred to keep Archie and Lilibet out of the spotlight? Probably for the sake of privacy: they intend to share as little as possible the photos of the little ones, so as not to make them real stars from a very young age.
