Who is the future demon?

The Future Devil finally made its big reveal in the first season of its anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man, and Aki wants to make a deal with this mysterious new creature. After the disastrous events that followed Katana Man’s attack on the demon hunters, Aki is at a crossroads and with little time in his life, he is on the verge of suicide. Luckily for Aki, Denji, and Power, this episode gave them some serious support, too.

Each devil is basically a representation of humanity’s fear of a particular concept or object, with the Texas Chainsaw Man, for example, becoming as strong as humanity’s fear of chainsaws. While the demons range from hilarious like the Sea Cucumber Devil to terrifying like the Bat and Eternity Devils, the Future Devil is a combination of both. The demon appears as what can only be described as a creature with antelope horns, plant tendrils and a huge eye on its torso. The future (devil) of Chainsaw Man

The would-be demon is more than willing to listen to Aki’s pleas for more power, as the swordsman is clearly on a suicidal path to slay as many demons as possible, but asks Aki to stick her head into his chest. By inserting its dome into the Future Devil’s torso, the supernatural creature is able to see into Denji’s future and is so amused by how he will die that he asks little to bestow his power on Aki.

The Future Devil was installed in Aki’s eye and allows him to see brief flashes of the future, but this power does not make the swordsman invincible, as we can see at the end of the last part. Fortunately, even though the demon hunters have suffered heavy losses in recent episodes, this new episode introduces some major new allies for Aki, Denji, and Power, as they are joined by Spider Devil, Shark Devil, Violence Devil, and Angel. 🇧🇷 demons, just to name a few.
