Pokemon Go Community Day in March will add some shiny new Pokemon

In pokemon goNow a new month means a new Community Day and Niantic has revealed what fans can expect in March. On March 18, Slowpoke will be in the spotlight from 2pm to 5pm local time. It’s not just slow poke; During that time, fans can expect both the original Kanto version of Slowpoke and the Galarian version. Shiny hunting has always been a selling point for Community Day, and this month’s Community Day will showcase that pokemon go Debut of Galar’s Shiny Slowpoke!

Both versions of Slowpoke can evolve into Slowbro or Slowking, although both Pokémon also have Galarian variants. Players who progress to Slowpoke or Galarian Slowpoke during the event will receive a Slowbro, Slowking, Galarian Slowbro or Galarian Slowking with the Attack Surf feature. The Water-type Charged Attack has a power of 65 whether used in Gyms, Raids, or Trainer Battles.

Progressing from Galarian Slowpoke to Galarian Slowbro would be challenging during Community Day hours, but Niantic will be making a change to the current requirements. Normally, players can only evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro by catching 30 Poison-type Pokemon while traveling with a Slowpoke as a Buddy Pokemon. However, that requirement changes to 30 Psychic-type Pokémon during the event, which is the same requirement that Galarian Slowking has. Since both versions of Slowpoke count towards this requirement, collecting the required number should not be a difficult task.

Community Day participants can look forward to several bonuses throughout the event, including double candies and triple XP on catches. Players above level 31 are also twice as likely to get Candy XL through achievements. There will also be avatar items, stickers and even a special Slowpoke research story. The Special Investigation story is called “Slow and Slower” and costs $1 in the in-game store.

Last but not least, players who missed the event can expect to see Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke appear in four-star raids from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time. Players who beat the raids can expect swarms of Slowpoke to surround the gym for 30 minutes, with shiny variants appearing just as frequently during events. As in the past, these attacks can only be performed locally.
