Juanes Premieres ‘Ojalá’, The Third Track From His Upcoming Album ‘Vida Cotidiana’

Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes, who has won 27 Grammys and Latin Grammys, this Thursday released “Ojalá,” a song that is part of his new album “Vida Cotidiana,” due out May 19.

“I love this song for its energy because history can happen to anyone and it’s happened through time. It’s about when you meet someone and they grab your attention but you can’t be with that person because they have their life , and you have yours,” Juanes said in a press release.

The Antioquian artist added about his new musical work that “it’s the most pop song on the album, it has a beautiful energy and reflects a situation that all people find themselves in at some point in our lives.”

The composer this time turned his attention inward during the pandemic to re-examine his mature vision of life, love, family, social concerns and other issues that gave him more elements to include in the album.

‘Ojalá’ was co-written by Juanes and Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Gale and had the collaboration of Argentinian bassist Guillermo Vadalá on the music.

As with the other musical works, today’s song came with a narrative video, filmed in Medellín and directed by Colombian María Calle.

In ‘Daily Life’ Juanes returns to rock and Latin American folkloric roots, with a more mature yet relaxed image, with different perspectives on love, marriage, family and his country.

Two singles are already known from the new album, in collaboration with producer Sebastián Krys and musical director Emanuel Briceño: ‘Amores prohibidos’ and ‘Gris’.
